I love bags. And my actual wish-list is way too long. But, among all the bags that I wish to own one day or another, there is one I would actually kill for: the Chanel 2.55. 

This iconic bag was created by Mademoiselle in February 1955, hence its name; many of its features were inspired by her personal life: for example, the inside zippered compartment is where Coco Chanel used to store her love letters, the burgundy lining represents the color of the uniforms at the convent where she grew up etc. The famous CC logo lock was introduced by Karl Lagerfield during the 80's while a reissue of the bag with the originale Mademoiselle Lock was done in 2005. 

Today this bag comes in many different sizes (from mini to jumbo), colors and materials and its price is constantly growing. So maybe I should hurry and buy one, what do you think? 

Adoro le borse. E la mia attuale wish-list è decisamente troppo lunga. Ma, fra tutte le borse che sogno di possedere prima o poi, ce n'è una per la quale potrei anche uccidere: la 2.55 di Chanel. 

Questa borsa iconica fu creata da Mademoiselle nel Febbraio 1955, da cui il nome; molte delle sue caratteristiche si ispiravano alla vita personale di Coco: ad esempio, la tasca interna a zip era quella in cui la stilista nascondeva le sue lettere d'amore, gli interni rosso scuro si inspirano al colore delle uniformi del collegio in cui è cresciuta etc.  La famosa chiusura con la doppia C fu introdotta da Karl Lagerfield negli anni '80 mentre una riedizione del modello originale con la chiusura Mademoiselle è stata presentata nel 2005. Oggi questa borsa è disponibile in diverse dimensioni (da mini a jumbo), colori e materiali ed il suo prezzo cresce di anno in anno. Beh, forse allora dovrei sbrigarmi a comprarmene una, che ne pensate?
